Space Age has ruined Space Age!

Post by NineNine »

Space Age is the worst! I don't know why so many people like it. Here are my problems with it:
It's too complicated.
It's not complicated enough.
It's too long.
It's too short.
Quality is dumb.
Vulcanus is awful.
Fulgora is a pain in the butt.
Gleba is the worst.
Space platforms aren't fun.
There aren't enough "achievements".
It's too expensive.
Space isn't real enough.
Why can't everything be on the same planet?
Spoilage is the worst.
I can't play my ten year old game with 32 mods in Space Age.
There's no point to the game.

That's all I've got for now...
What about Space Age has ruined Space Age for you?

I disagree with your disagreements! All of my arguments make perfect sense!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm busy working on a new space platform...

Space age ruined space age because it generated so much off topic on the forum that i can't resist answering instead of making a new space platform.

I disagree completely with everything that everybody has ever said - all the way back to Julius Caesar in Rome. Space Age is the best thing to happen since the invention of the Julian Calender, so in this Bug Report I am proposing that we change the entire calendar as follows:
  • January is now Nauvisuary, since that is the first Planet
  • February is also Nauvisuary, because I’m not a speedrunner and I like to take my time getting to Space
  • March is Gleba, because they both have 5 letters and I hate March
  • April is also still Gleba! Gleba fools day! Because the Pentapods keep killing my base, how do I kill them with lasers
  • Fulgora is next. It’s an empty month, no enemies to fight or wars to be had here.
  • June is now Aquilo - aka Space Australia, which experiences winter at this time of year
  • July is still July - so that we can celebrate AMERICA’s birthday by blowing up everything
  • August is now Kovarust
  • September is Promethember
  • October is now Spiderober - and you have to paint your Spidertrons like a Pumpkin
  • November is now an enforced Rest Break - your computer will catch on fire if you attempt to play Factorio during this time.
  • December is now Cogmas, for the entire month.
I hope you all agree with me and if you don’t then I hope your pants catch fire. Good Luck!

I hate the Julian Calendar! We should have 13 28-day months, instead!

I agree! In my hatred for Gleba I completely forgot about Vulcanuary, which should logically occur between Gleba and Gleba.

13x28 = 364, so there is an extra day in Earth’s orbit. We will need to decrease the Space Platform Velocity slightly to compensate, can somebody start a new Oil Refinery near the South Pole? The Penguins won’t mind the Thruster arrays.

I think the US government is working on this right now! We can do it!

And while we're at it, maybe we should get some heat pipes across all of Australia so they can fix that problem they have with it being cold in June-August.

This reminds me of the Vulcanary, the almost extinct native bird of Vulcanus. It's so rare, no player has seen it yet.

I have yet to see a Vulcanary either. Space Age is ruined.

Don't worry guys, at some point they will reintroduce the 1.1 fluid system into Space Age upon which the game will be un-ruined again.

The new fluid thing is weird. I'm still not used to it. I'm not going to complain, though. I'm just going to say that I find it weird.

I've heard rumors that everyone's waiting for your mod before doing anything new

Makes one wonder what could have been accomplished if time weren't wasted chasing vulcanaries x)

It is a common misconception that the Vulcanary is a Winged Bird. Much like their distant evolutionary cousin the Earthican Ostrich, they are far too heavy to fly. Instead, they sprint over the scorching-hot Volcanic ash fields on two spindly legs of Carbon Fiber, supporting a strong Tungsten body. Their eggs are laid in clutches along a Cliff edge, safe from the wandering Demolishers who would otherwise find them to be tasty snacks. They are indeed elusive - found only near the far reaches of the map beyond the 32-bit Signed Integer limit. Rich rewards await those who can capture their Spawners.... rumour has it that these Bio-Mechanical beasts are the descendant of ancient Fulgoran Mining scouts, and their defenses are still active.

Good Hunting!

Your image explains the decline of the Vulcanary. It needs lava puddles to hatch its eggs, but with the decline in volcanic activity, lava puddles cool into chimney vents, so that the Vulcanary is slowly being deprived of its basis of life.
