Re: [2.0.76.0][linux] Close / freeze when minimizing and restoring game window

I also run kwin with wayland, but on Fedora (KDE) instead of the rolling release distribution you are using, CachyOS.
I have never experienced any issues with Factorio. Sometimes I leave it paused for days, and other times I forget it is minimized while I play other games. It always resumes without ...

Re: [2.0.76][linux] Crash with "video memory usage all"

Well the issue is that factorio is the only game im actually having issues with when it comes to any programs.

The problem is likely related to your GPU driver rather than Factorio itself. dmesg output you provided shows kernel errors tied to the graphics driver, which indicates a system-level ...

Re: [2.0.76][linux] Crash with "video memory usage all"

Driver error like this, well... indicate problem with the driver, not the game. Since Factorio is proven to work fine on Nvidia cards under Linux, my suggestion is this:

1. Replace Archlinux rolling distro with fixed release distro, to increase stability and reduce number of bugs you are exposed to ...

On the side note, Factorio log reads:

Re: [2.0.73] Crash while Paused

You’re welcome. Greetings from a fellow Linux user. Myself, I use AMD 5950X chip, on Fedora system, and never had any problems with it, computer runs 24/7, often with Factorio in the background.

Sorry to hear your CPU is likely out of warranty. It was disappointing that Intel did not implement a ...

Re: Modifying contents of logistic network

If you want wireless, and simple, just set logistic network condition on a foundry or inserter to iron plate < 1000. That will work.
If you want super minimal but less precise, you can set that condition on a input feed coming to your foundries.
Everything else will be just overcomplicating things ...

Re: Better compression for savegames

I like to have cake and also eat it so my solution to minimal interruption for backups is to make a snapshot/shadow copy and have that compressed to the maximum by a background process/thread.
Worst case my backup is already a few seconds to minutes old when created.

Linux solves this. 8 ...

Re: Crash report

Absolutely, the OS should never crash. I’ve essentially never seen crashes with the Linux kernel. If one does occur, something has to go, either the hardware or the OS. :P

OP, you were most likely sold old stock that is prone to the permanent defect described above. It’s unfortunate that a vendor ...

Re: Regional value in Brazil

This post is not about asking for sales or price reductions.

Currently, Factorio costs about $35 USD.
In the United States, this corresponds to roughly 2–3% of a minimum monthly wage.
In Brazil, the regional price represents approximately 7–8% of a minimum monthly wage.

So what you are ...

Re: [2.0.72] Crash mass firing artillery

System uptime itself should not cause instability. However, based on your description, I can imagine that users of MS Windows often expect this.

Please test the RAM with Memtest86+ and the CPU with Prime95; the source of the instability may be elsewhere.
