Re: Graphical Issues on Wayland (Linux)
Looks like every Wayland issue is related to Nvidia.

Not only icon is lagging. I read that they are using vulnerable OpenSSL library (for mods downloading) from 5 years ago, too

Re: [2.1.7] Large rendering performance regression on Linux
Out of curiosity, I cloned Factorio folder and tested 2.1.8 on my computer (details in the signature). I have Xlibre (fork of Xorg), version:
Package: xlibre
Version: 1:7.8+5
No Wayland. It works very well on my setup. Both 2.0.77 and 2.1.8 shows 60.0/60.0 FPS/UPS on my advanced save. One thing I ...

Re: [2.0.72] Random flashing rectangles when decoratives are on
I do want to repaste (or thermal pad?) my CPU+GPU a bit further into the summer break. I disabled the fan control program I was previously using to delay the onset of the fans spinning up (probably dumb of me to use that, but I thought I kept it within safe limits), so I don't think it's of ...

There you go then. Use whatever is working on your setup, and enjoy the game.tomkcook wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 3:13 pm Switching to the native Wayland driver does seem to resolve this.

Take your laptop apart and repaste CPU and GPU. If you don't and it is indeed a overheating VRAM problem, then laptop may fail for good.

Oh, what's even worse. Multiplier games are used only by a fraction of players, while update function by almost everyone with standalone version. If there's unknown bug there, it can affect many installations.
Perhaps you can update it for 2.0 release?

Very good find. So it means Factorio has been compiled with outdated version of this library, and it may make it exposed to some vulnerabilities during online play?

Re: [2.0.76] Crash modifying space platform logistic requests
Ok I'm working with Gemini to run through and check for HW issues.
I did the motherboard BIOS update last year to deal with the Intel 13/14th gen CPU issue, so I don't think it's that.
It's a Raptor Lake. They are all defective and updating the BIOS can prolong the dying, not prevent it.
Can't ...

Re: Factorio crashing on Windows 11
Running your modern DDR5 RAM at dedicated speed is not overclocking. You are meant to go to BIOS and change speed from safe defaults to speed it has been designed for, and doing so is covered by warranty. It's done that way to ensure boot on every computer, not because it is overclocking.

Re: Factorio crashing on Windows 11
Have you taken out these two sticks of RAM? What speed are the remaining two running at? 6400 MT/s, yes? Have you done Memtest86+ on these two sticks alone at 6400 MT/s?

Re: Factorio crashing on Windows 11
For CPU and GPU temps monitoring with power consumption, you need a separate tool. I don't use Windows so can't reliably recommend any favourite.
Very nice result with your 3.5h session.
So what have you changed until now?

Re: Factorio crashing on Windows 11
Oh, indeed, sorry for missing that in your first post.
850W PSU is a borderline minimum for your Sapphire RX 9070 XT, according to specs.
Make sure to do full load test with Furmark and prime95 running simultaneously.
Also, next time you're running Factorio, monitor CPU and GPU temps and wattage.

Good to hear all tests returned as a pass.
But still, you mentioned hard hangs and/or reboots while gaming, so that's not good. Could be a GPU still, despite Furmark passing. Or GPU driver - that's a software side, Windows 11 or Radeon driver, or both.

Good to hear at least Windows built-in memory test is a pass, that's something.
