[2.0.76] Electric resistance causes capture bot rocket spam

We are aware of them, but do not have solutions that don't cause other issues. They go here in order not to take space in the main bug thread list.

[2.0.76] Electric resistance causes capture bot rocket spam

1. What did you do?
- Give a capturable unit-spawner 100% electrical resistance
i.e.

Code: Select all

local bugspawner = data.raw["unit-spawner"]["biter-spawner"]
bugspawner.resistances = { { type = "electric", percent = 100 } }
2. What happened?
- turrets shooting capture bots at the spawner will now repeatedly shoot capture bots at the target, ignoring whether or not it is currently being captured
(the capture still works normally, but wastes a lot of resources)

3. What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
- Only one capture bot, same as with 0% electrical resistance
4. Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
- Always

Thanks for the report however I don’t believe we will be doing anything about this. The capture robot “reserves” the spawner by simulating that it will do 1000000 electric damage to the spawner. This prevents anything else from trying to shoot at the nest (turret or capture robot). By marking it as immune to electric damage that simply doesn’t work anymore.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

I see, thanks for the explanation. A flat decrease of 900000-something should work for my case then. Not sure if this is documented anywhere, might be helpful.
