[1.1.57][Win10] Error Code 520 when logging in from game

Initially, I had no problem connecting and downloading mods via the in-game connection to the mod portal.
Then, in order to change the in-game display of my username, I logged into the factorio.com website and changed my username and password.
Username was not updated in game, so I logged out of Factorio from the in-game: Settings -> Other page.
Now, I can no longer access the mod portal nor log in from within the game.

Going to the "Install" tab of the in-game mod portal immediately gives the following error:

"Failed to reach auth server. Code: 520. Error: schannel: failed to receive handshake, SSL/TLS connection failed."

Going to Settings -> Other -> then selecting Log In, produces the same error.

I am able to login and download mods from the mod portal WEB SITE with no problems using my new username and password.

I have uninstalled, renamed the appdata/roaming/factorio folder, and reinstalled a few times, rebooted, and still get the error.

I'm running version 7.79.1 of CUrl, but I don't think this is the problem since I had no issues at all just moments before updating my Factorio username and password.

This started yesterday after updating my factorio.com username and password. About 12 hours has gone by and I'm still having the same issue.

Hello,
I had same problem, after trying everything I could I noticed I had a problem with Steam Cloud syncronization.
Going offline and back online in the Steam clienty solved the issue.
Hope this works for you.

I'm grateful for the suggestion but going offline then back online in the Steam client unfortunately didn't solve the issue. I was really hoping it would.

I'm still having the problem. It definitely seems network or firewall-related but I get the same issue even when I completely disable my antivirus/firewall suite.

Update: It doesn't appear to be an issue with my account on Factorio.com nor my ISP. I'm able to connect fine on my laptop (Win11).

I still get the problem on my PC (Win10), even when I turn off my Antivirus/firewall suite.

Does anyone have some suggestions I can use to pinpoint the problem?
