So I just died due to a train hitting me, and this is my latest autosave :

Re: A lovely autosave
I am sorry, but I laughed pretty damn hard.
In all seriousness though there might be a way out of this. It may take a few tries but should work event is maybe. :p Load the auto save, and the second the game loads hit Enter to jump into the train to ride it. Hopefully it works from the front, never actually tried it that way.
You could also try just hitting one of the movement keys super to move out of the way, but I think when it is that close it is a better bet to try to hop on.
Hope it works!

Re: A lovely autosave
Load it as a multiplayer game, die and respawn, and save it again!
Re: A lovely autosave
This is really spectacular, I will use it

I wonder... if the replay is robust enough, how hard would it be to detect when a player is run over by a train, and then "synthesize" an autosave a few frames prior to the accident?kovarex wrote:This is really spectacular, I will use it

If I correctly understand how replays work then you can only go forward from the current frame using the replay.sillyfly wrote:I wonder... if the replay is robust enough, how hard would it be to detect when a player is run over by a train, and then "synthesize" an autosave a few frames prior to the accident?kovarex wrote:This is really spectacular, I will use it
You'd need to save the actual gamestate from these few frames/seconds ago, so that after the train death you can recover the gamestate. That would require processing time and memory during normal gameplay in case this happens.
