Ah i see,
Now that you said it, i suppose the tech tree does need improvement.
Thanks

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
when this will be put on steam? is .12 still going to be too early? any roadmap for that?
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
You could have just searched for "steam" with the search function. This question gets asked a few times per month.
No, it will not be 0.12. Maybe 1.0, but the devs are not sure. At the earliest in summer 2015.

Greetings, Nova.
Factorio is one of the greatest games I ever played, with one of the best developers I ever heard of.

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
Don't get me wrong I am super excited about the part of the game in space. But does that mean that you are ditching the idea of a self replicating factories on the ground and stopping to improve the early, mid and sort of late(before the space things) game for example stuff like extending the early game for longer than 1/160 of the whole game.
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
We are not ditching anything, we just want to have the base of the game complete, so we can do whatever we want without the fear, that we will not "finish it".indjev99 wrote:Don't get me wrong I am super excited about the part of the game in space. I repeat: Factorio is a game-framework. An very good implementation of some useful game mechanics and the real gameplay is done by modding.kovarex wrote:we just want to have the base of the game complete, so we can do whatever we want without the fear, that we will not "finish it".
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
Judging by how you define that term, I think a more common term for that concept is "toy": It's not as much of a Toy as Lego or even Minecraft --- Factorio does have goals --- but after a bit it becomes more and more self directed play rather than trying to fulfill the goals of the game itself.ssilk wrote:I repeat: Factorio is a game-framework. The greatest gulf that we must leap is the gulf between each other's assumptions and conceptions. To argue fairly, we must reach consensus on the meanings and values of basic principles. -Thereisnosaurus
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
Hey, I was wondering if the game is still being updated, before I buy it?
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.11 + 0.12
Stupid question. It is updated all the time, with tons of new stuff being planned.

Well, it can't be garantued, but there no obvious reason why the devs would stop the development of the game now. But even if they would: The game is already pretty stable and quite big - many hours of fun could await you if you like games like this.

That's right - just see how much time is put in videos on Factorio on "Youtube"...Nova wrote:Well, it can't be garantued, but there no obvious reason why the devs would stop the development of the game now. I updated the roadmap for 0.12 and 0.13
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.12 + 0.13
Looking good!
Nice to see first large-scale optimisation efforts planned for the near future, as well as steam integration. Sounds to me like the beginning of the final stage, the last 10% (which usually takes 90% of time).

The 20-80-rule The last 20% of development tasks take 80% of the whole time.Drury wrote:Looking good!

Belt optimization has been ongoing for some time in the background so it will probably be merged quite early-mid to have extensive test time in 0.12.x
And yeah, I'm also pumped for 0.12

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.12 + 0.13
With the current belts in 0.11 inserters can't fill a belt to full density. So, to make a belt full density I often put a next higher speed belt under the last few inserters or if dealing with express belt I have a few inserters go onto a second belt and use a splitter to merge the items in. Will this behavior change for 0.12?
Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.12 + 0.13
Are the "floors" planned for the 0.12 or 0.13?

Great!
I'm asking because "floors" are not mentioned in the roadmap.

It doesn't say anything about the XL Behemoth Biters and Spitters. Were that idea dropped?kovarex wrote:I updated the roadmap for 0.12 and 0.13
Also, are they going to have more Damage Resistance than the Large ones?
