Conditions:
1) Experimental 2.1 branch
2) DeathWorld settings
3) I have a biter expansion that comes out somewhere, it build a base as usual (a huge base actually but I think it is beacuse a 2.1 changes)
After that there was a huge wave of biters on my base

Actual Result: The wave stopped after first ones, it seems the biter nests doesnt consume polution but they definetely should, they are inside cloud. I think its about 30 minutes passed sinse first wave and thats all nothing more

Expected result: Biter nests consume polution and send attacks like normal nests (other non expanded originall nests still sends waves of biters)

Update: I examined a situation and find out that after I attacked the biter expansion and killed some of the biters (biters themself not the nests) - there was a single spike in pollution consumption and after that a new wave begin to gather.

My theory that there were some biters that were counted as from previous wave but for some reason they are stuck and doesnt attack with very first wave, and because of them the wave doesnt count as cleaned, and because of that the new wave doesnt start

Add the version to the title, post a link to a save and explain exactly what is happening and what you expect to happen instead please, see 3638.

Getting the same issue. Attached screenshot and save file.
  • Factorio v2.1.9
  • Custom Map settings - changed biter settings but all within sliders
  • Had minor QOL mods installed but seeing same behaviour when all disabled (except vanilla/space age)
  • No biter attack waves being sent beyond the very first
  • Might be that biters are not joining attack groups properly? (Seems like spawners can create biters, just that they hit their cap)

Have this bug again in different game. Seems it happens quite often

Hello! I can confirm that this bug definitely happens. It happened to me as well. New game deathworld marathon settings on 2.1.10, space age, no mods. An expansion happened nearby my base and they did send an attack wave once. So I built some defenses in that direction. However afterwards it was surprisingly silent. The nest is fully inside the pollution cloud, but it doesn't send any waves at all. The "original" nests which have been there from the beginning do send waves as usual.

Thanks for the reports,

It looks like the expansion groups that failed would fall into a semi-passive state that preventing other groups but didn't move to attack.

It is fixed for an upcoming 2.1 release
