Since installing this game on my new pc last year, I have not used mods in Factorio.
Now, after installing a single mod (start on any planet), everytime I would load a save, I would get spammed with achievements I had already acquired.
Removing the mod, rebooting the game and loading a save would not have this issue.
At first I contacted the mod creator, they double checked and their mod does not mess around with achievements. They pointed out however, that modded playthroughs have separate achievement tracking in-game.
The factorio discord suggested I look at the logs, I found:
"287.747 Error SteamContext.cpp:179: Failed to write "achievements-modded.dat" to Steam Cloud. Size: 6883, Cloud Storage: Total=24999999995, Available=0"
I searched my drive for this file, manually at first, eventually using windows search to check my entire drive: the file is not found.
Checking Steam confirms what the log reported: after playing this game for 7 years (100+ saves per playthrough) I had capped out storage in the Steam Cloud (~24gb).
Once I cleared the Steam Cloud storage (several failed attempts resulted in uploading and downloading the 24gb several times at 100mb/s...) and booting up Factorio, the "achievements-modded.dat" file is now generated, and modded achievements are being logged properly now.
My issue with this: it feels like the process is not executing in the proper order.
How I perceive the current process: "check if steam cloud is full, if not full: create file locally and upload, if full: do nothing"
How it should be: "create file locally, check if steam cloud is full, if not full, upload".
The creation of the file should be executed entirely seperate from interacting with the Steam Storage Cloud in my opinion.

Apologies for the missing version number. The current and previous logs have been overwritten since I fixed it, they no longer contain mention of the error I posted in my previous message. Do you still want me to add them?
