galaxy of fame auth error version [2.0.72] (latest)

So when i reached the solar system edge 2 months ago, i tried to upload my save to the galaxy of fame it didnt work, stating that it failed to reach auth servers, code 520, error unknown. I tried it multiple times with different solutions, nothing worked. Shortly after i temporarily quit the game. Now when im back, whenever i try to upload it, it still does not work. that means it can not be a temporary issue.

Are you able to manually ping that address and does it resolve correctly?

Are you perhaps located within a country that's known to block/filter/limit internet traffic?

I mean i live in the uae so i guess so. It is pretty known for internet traffic filtering though this is the only thing ive had a problem with so far

i fixed it now, all i did was change my dns to googles and now its working

This is likely to be a "Chained CNAME" issue, not a case of Internet Censorship. Despite the guidance provided in RFC1034 some DNS Resolver software does not properly handle the case of a "CNAME pointing to a CNAME pointing to a real-name".... which is exactly what we find at uploads-nf.mods.factorio.com:

Properly standards-compliant DNS servers (such as those run by Google, or ISC BIND) handle this case without issue.
