Switch train/platform stop while preserving wait conditions.

Post by SwozzleSticks »

TL;DR
Change the stop for a train or platform while keeping the conditions below it.
What?
With reference to the attached image, if I want to change this platform from delivering the belts to Nauvis (and leaving once empty), to delivering the belts to Fulgora (and leaving once empty), I must delete the Nauvis stop, add a new Fulgora stop, and add the condition turbo belt = 0. When there are only a couple conditions this isn't bad but quickly gets tedious with additional conditions.

My suggestion is to be able to instead simply change Nauvis to Fulgora, keeping the conditions below it as they are. I imagine this being done by having a dropdown menu appear when I click on the station name. So here, clicking "Nauvis" would show a dropdown menu similar to the one that appears when one clicks on "+ Add Station."
Why?
When configuring a collection of trains, small inconveniences add can add up. Not being able to do the behavior I describe above has been a personal pain point with trains, and it doesn't seem like it would be a strange thing to permit the player to do.

No, you simply need to insert the new stop at Fulgora, add the same waiting condition as Nauvis and maybe click manually once on the stop to force the platform to go to Fulgora it it has already left Vulcanus. You could also add a second stop at Vulcanus to fill up with belts for Nauvis and insert that into the schedule.

You could also add a unfullfillable wait condition at the stop at Fulgora, so that the platform empties and then sits at Fulgora until you manually send it to Vulcanus and delete the stop at Fulgora.

You could also setup a signal from Fulgora and an Interrupt with your delivery condition and have the platform route that way over to Fulgora until enough belts are available there. Probably you'd also send it afterwards to Vulcanus to fill up before you let it continue with the regular schedule.
