While on Aquilo (for sure) and on a space platform (potentially), if I open the science screen, normally I'd expect the ingame music to stop playing. It however continues to play. (I say potentially on space platform because I am currently working on the new base on aquilo so I havent left the planet for a while, but I remember something was up with this when traveling to aquilo)
As a likely related issue, the sound of other sources that are playing on my computer changes as well while on this screen and losing game window focus. After regaining focus on the game window, the sound of the other source normalizes back to how it was.
This last problem also happens when, in my case I have iTunes open on windows and I start the game: suddenly the volume goes way up.

This was changed a while ago, it is now default that music keeps playing when opening technology screen. It should do so on all planets
Re: [2.0.43] music unexpectedly continues playing when on science selection screen
Music playing on technology screen is intended, not a bug.
Factorio doesn't affect other applications and it doesn't do anything with sound on losing focus. It sounds like something else on your system is trying to do something clever based on what's open. If that is the case it's outside of our control.
