Anyone Else Lost Promethium Ships Since 2.0.28?
I've had my Promethium science ships running for a week or so now without any issues. I don't think they even took any real damage.
I just updated to 2.0.28 (from 2.0.23) and they both died on their first run to the shattered planet which seemed odd..
Does anyone know of any changes that might have affected this? I had a look here but nothing obvious: https://wiki.factorio.com/Version_history/2.0.0

Do you have any information on what destroyed them? I have not lost it, but it suddenly (after having updated to 2.0.28) begin taking many damages, while it was running during hours with almost none on previous version. Even after having reduced its speed by a factor of 2 I now still take damages .
But the most flagrant evidence of an unmentionned change is an early ship I just finished designing the day before 2.0.28 release. I tested it during few hours under 2.0.24, ammo production and its stock was just adapted. I updated to 2.0.28 and launch my editor save to continue designing something else, and now the same ship that was running fine the day before, was running out of ammo constantly during one trip from an early planet to an other...

The link expiring is going to make it harder for other people to check later, maybe you can post a save game ? that would also show the researchs level for the diferent damages upgrade, because otherwise there's too many combo possible to try and reproduce.Kerza wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 1:21 am Sure, here is a link:

Thanks all for the comments on this.
So it was something to do with the rail guns, and some kind of improvements in how quickly they fire vs how they used to fire.
I was basically creating 250 ammo a minute, when I required 350+.

That's quite worrying to read regarding previously posted blueprints of ships now that the cause of it appears clearer. It make sense that a faster rail gun could leave some platforms starved of ammo at the end of some trips where the previous slower rail gun wouldn't have.Deadringers wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 7:08 pm Thanks all for the comments on this.
