[2.0.23] Circuit Network fails to consider stacks on belts as items

Post by Aricitic »

I dearly hope I did that title correctly.

Firstly, I do apologize, I feel... unwell... so my ability to process information is not as good as it should be for me to make this post, but I'm afraid that I will forget or lose the information necessary for this post if I don't do it right now, so... I have the page on "How to post bugs" and Grammarly to help me do this correctly, hopefully...

1. What did you do?
I attempted to use "belt splitters" (specifically an "Express splitter") to separate iron higher than common quality from common quality, and then introduced item stacks (through the new Stack Inserter).

2. What happened?
anything that was not specifically a single common iron went through the "above common" side.
To test my theory I had the belt read through circuits (connected the belt in question with another and "read entire belt") to see what it was 'seeing'. It ONLY registered the "rare" quality single iron, and not the "stacked" iron.

3. What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
Common quality iron in stacks should go through the "everything else" side of the Splitter. AND should be read by the circuit network.

4. Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
I'm unsure how to test this further. When I get more information (probably in a few minutes when I introduce copper) I will update my post (or add another to this thread).

^- is the setup that isn't working as intended. Directly above and to the right of the uncommon and common "Metallic asteroid crushing" Crushers are the problem splitters.

^- is the circuit setup (just one belt to another with the window showing what it sees (under green) and the results. It literally doesn't even register the stacked iron.

I did the circuit setup to see if I could figure out what I needed to tell the splitter - if the way I was doing it wasn't correct - and that's how I discovered that it simply doesn't even register.

You are not showing the settings of the circuit connected belt that is allegedly not reading correctly, instead you show the one reading correctly. The obvious assumption is that the settings are wrong.
If this is not the case, post a simple save where the issue can be observed please, see 3638.

Yes, I tested again. I'm an idiot. Like I said, not feeling well. Sorry.

However, why is it considering stacked common as higher than common? Specifically for the splitter, I mean.

FInal note: I've tried it on the same save (my main and only as of the moment) and it does as expected for steel... So, I've NO idea why it did differently for the iron. I feel a little silly now.
