[2.0.21] Artillery cannon not firing on nests

There's an artillery cannon where I'm standing, within range of some nests in the northeast, but it's not firing upon them. It's not even rotated towards them, instead it's rotated westwards. There's a second cannon in the south of my base but its range doesn't reach to the nests anyway. And yes, I checked, those nests are still there. The cannon has ammo, and is set to automatically fire on targets.

Actually, nevermind. I moused over the nests in question and it says they're "protected from automated shooting"; then I realized they were some nests that I had captured before to get credit for research and left to revert.
