Hello, I have been encountering some crashing issues since the last update I believe. I took a break from the game but I have been unable to play and have been crashing for a number of months, going back to troubleshoot and see if the most recent update fixed it, but it has not.
The crash occurs 100% of the time, when I load any save and don't move, it will not crash, but as soon as I zoom out or start walking it will immediately freeze and crash. The crash also occasionally happens when loading the world, or even when loading the game up.
I started noticing the crash on a modded save I have been playing for a while, after a certain update around January of 2023 it has become unplayable despite me not changing any mods or anything else related to the game or my PC.
I have tried: Updating drivers, restarting my PC, verifying integrity of files, running the game both heavily modded and Vanilla on a fresh save, but all lead to the same result, crashing with the same error.
I don't experience any similar crashing from other PC games, just Factorio.
I have included logs from a crash when looking through the mod browser menu, and logs from trying to play both my modded save and fresh Vanilla saves. I have also included my modded save just in case.

Try removing RivaTuner.
Re: [1.1.87] Crashing consistently, both modded and vanilla
Same results with RivaTuner both closed and uninstalled. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Force opengl didn't seem to work with the steam edition, and I did not try another driver.
However, the standalone version runs perfectly fine as is with or without mods, so that would solve my issue!
Thank you for the help anyway.

That sounds like the steam overlay was causing the crash.Benokojo wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 3:40 pm Force opengl didn't seem to work with the steam edition, and I did not try another driver.

Re: [1.1.87] Crashing consistently, both modded and vanilla
Just posting an update if anyone reads this: as of todays update (1.1.91) I can now run my fully modded Factorio on steam with no changes to make it work.
Previously nothing would help even disabling the steam overlay, I could only play the non-steam client.
Well, as of today everything is working fine on Steam! Thanks again for the help this thread can be closed now.

Sounds like there may have been some corrupt files in your Steam install that finally got fixed with the most recent update.
