[1.1.21] Searching Production UI for 'science' brings up unexpected results

I'm not sure how loaders, burner drills, and speed modules have anything to do with 'science'

Have you tried turning off fuzzy search?

I would but then I would lose it's vast usefulness for everything else it is used for (crafting menu, log request, requester chests, combinators). I just dont see how fuzzy search leads to 'science' filter = burner drill and the other stuff I mentioned. Seems like a bug.

It also searches the item description, not just the name.

eg:
Speed module
Increases machine speed at a cost of increasing energy consumption.

According to 94844 this is intended.

Well, those mod items have long descriptions that likely allow many single words to be pieced together.

oh boy, that's how it works? there is no hope. haha you can close this ticket if that is the intended behavior but as a user that makes no sense to me and I can't imagine the result of all that is intuitive for most people.

That's one of the features of the fuzzy search. If you want only exact words to match, deactivate the fuzzy search. However, it will still search description text.

I would think it would try find 'science' or 'sci' in any 1 word in the name or description. not various letters from inquiry in different words of name/description. The former seems a lot more helpful due to a lot less false positives than the latter.

So don't use fuzzy search

I don't see anything here that is a bug
