As far as I can see, different people have different problems with sound. Some do not hear the sounds of transport belts at all (like me), for some they are too loud
Turns out for me it was a mod problem. Sorry about that. Seems fine now. I agree that there could be frequency issues with people not hearing certain frequencies.

Yellow belts also seem a bit louder to me than red and yellow because the sound deeper. Faster speeds have a more high frequency whine and that decreases the volume for me. Turning yellow down to 70% and red to 90% seems a lot more consistent

Electric mining drills and assemblers are a bit too loud IMO. I turned those down to 60% and 70% respectively. Not sure about the "right" AM value though

Have you disabled mods or uninstall them? Because i don't hear transport belts even with mods disabled.

First I disabled it and that didn't change anything. Uninstalling it and then downloading it fixed it

Didn't work for me. I deleted the game and settings in the roaming folder, reinstalled it, started a new game and still nothing.
Steam version, cloud disabled.

Please fix train sounds.
They are way too silent, especially the locomotive engine.

Could you finaly add a memo text into the combinators? So when I come back to an old creation, (like an outpost train station) then I dont need to re-invent the wheel. Rather read descritption, what it does.
use attach-notes mod.
Last time I checked, you couldn't blueprint attached notes. Copy and paste from another entity was possible, though.
attach-notes mod works in some cases. But I would rather use solution which works all the time. Technicaly its not an issue, programer should add such feature in a day.

Yes, can barely hear those once lovely engine sounds anymore. That was one of the best sounds in the game. Quite sad. :(

When will this madness end? I mean these sounds get worse and worse, toally waste of time and resources! You already had the perfect sounds for the majority of things. Please revert or give us the option to do so.

Actual laser fire : https://youtu.be/IzUoe-9bKa0?t=100
Basically, completely silent. The laser I'd be thinking of would be between 50 and 500Kw of output power. So, I'm guessing around 10000 to 100000 times the wattage of the laser in the video. I'm guessing that would be enough to heat the air and cause a crack noise. Now, I'm also guessing a real laser weapon would use temporal compression techniques like the ones used by the laser in LASIK surgery to increase the instantaneous wattage another 10-100 times and would turn the continuous laser beam into a train of pulses where each was delivering 1-10Mw or so to the target for, say, 1 millisecond and nothing for 99 milliseconds. Some of that energy will be deposited into the air and would result in some of the air turning into plasma. Some of it would also go into mechanical vibrations caused by swiftly changing powerful magnetic fields (what I think causes the hum you hear from large power transformers (I just double-checked, and my guess was right)).

It would probably sound like a one-note singing Tesla coil. Here is an example of a singing Tesla coil.

The current sound is probably an accurate portrayal of what this would sound like. Unfortunately, I don't think that works well in a video game. And the sound someone else posted of the Lasergewehr from Wolfenstein® II would probably be better (minus the spinning mechanical undertone).

In my opinion the new sounds are mostly great, just needs a bit of tweaking.

Im sure someone will make a mod to bring back all of the classic sounds.
Don't forget, you're here forever.

the new train sounds are something painful indeed, i searched the thread for a mention of the issue but haven't found it yet.

when stopping, the trains have a very high pitched squeal every time. it's okay to do it once, twice - every n'th - but every single time is too many times. the old train stopping sound was fine to hear a billion times, it never got old. the new one is too noticeable and too harsh.

when driving, the trains are almost inaudible. I have to zoom in quite far to hear its engines. however, the stopping noise is then EXTREMELY loud.

imo, train sounds should have been left untouched.

the yellow inserter sounds are awfully squeaky and shrill as well.

First time I don't appreciate an update that much. In general I don't like the new sounds, the old ones were just fine.

I had time to play on Easter, new sounds are ... new. Sometimes better sometimes not.
Laser sound is too much, I would prefer almost silent pew, pew. Let machine(gun) do noise, not light.
Train travel sound, enter loco and travel on it - biggest dissapointment - now it sound like a rolecoaster or a tiny model train sound. Its too rattling, too much vibrations, too wobly. Previous sound was proper heavy train Pum-pum, ... , Pum-pum. Resolut repeating sound, healthy for any train lover. Thank you for reconsider this. Best give the travel sound back.
