[Twinsen] [for 0.17] Production statistics label width too small
Dear developers,
first of all:
amazing game, amazing work !
I have a problem with the production stats-window.
It does not matter which one (5sec, 1min...).
You can`t see the first two numbers at the top (copper cable, iron ore, ...).
Doesn`t matter which resolution:
first picture = 2560x1440
second = 1920x1080 (look at copper cable = 03.4k/min)
I use the latest experimental build.
System-Specs:
Windows 7 64 Bit
16 GB DDR3-RAM
GeForce 1070

Oh I see. This is a translation issue, default game shows /m and then all fits in fine, with /min it does not fit. Forwarding to translation forum.
Re: [DE][0.16.29] Top production statistic values covered by bar
And fixed for the next update. Thanks for the report.

Re: [DE][0.16.29] Top production statistic values covered by bar
Hi! The same problem in russian language in 16.34 version, should i start new topic?
Re: [DE][0.16.29] Top production statistic values covered by bar
I think the best course of action is to go to register to Crowdin https://crowdin.com/project/factorio search for per minute in core.ini and change it to something shorter.
I can revert it to English version.

[Ru] Cutted values on production page
I'm usually playing russian game version. There are often not enough space for long values on production page and thus one or more first digits are cutted. Here is example. On 1 minute graphs all values in the squares should be the same as values in the text column, but its wrong for copper wire, copper, iron, processors, sulfur and others.

Re: [Ru] Cutted values on production page
@Moderators: Someone move this to bug reports?
This is quite clearly a bug in the layout. The column is too narrow and the numbers are being cut off:

Re: [Ru] Cutted values on production page
Moved back to bug reports, as this is the exact sort of thing that isn't a translation issue
Re: [Twinsen] [for 0.17] Production statistics label width too small
Same issue with electric network screen(russian locale).

Re: [Twinsen] [for 0.17] Production statistics label width too small
Fixed in Version: 0.17.64. I added some logic that will size the label depending on the strings in the translation. Hopefully I didn't miss anything.
BUT, we have this problem very often.
Our attitude is that translators NEED to make sure their text fits properly.
We try to give them enough space but we also prefer to have our UI as compact as possible, so it's a tough balance to keep.
If the English translation is 42.1/m, why does German have to be special and translate it as 42.1/min ?
We make great effort to use as short strings as possible but it seems translators often take the liberty of writing game tutorials instead of translations. Our best way to impose it is to put hard limits on some sizes.

Re: [Twinsen] [for 0.17] Production statistics label width too small
Because the unit is min, not m. m is meter. If you need shorter translations, make a "short" string like we do in multiple other places.
