Not sure if you could have used big poles instead of staions and add few more beacons instead.Juggla wrote:My late game green cell with no long handed inserters

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
Why ratio for heavily moduled assemblers is more close to 1:1. I've experienced this myself, but i have no explanation to the phenomenon. Both circuit and wire assemblers should be slowed down by the same amount, shouldn't they? But experiment shows that wire assemblers are slowed down more. Do somebody have a solution to this mystery?

Nope.GeniusIsme wrote:Why ratio for heavily moduled assemblers is more close to 1:1. I've experienced this myself, but i have no explanation to the phenomenon. Both circuit and wire assemblers should be slowed down by the same amount, shouldn't they?
Wire production (4 x productivity module 3 and assembler III: speed - 60%: crafting speed: 1.25 * (1 - 0.6) = 0.5)
Base output: 2 wires per 0.5 sec = 2 wires per 30 ticks = 1 wire per 15 ticks
With crafting speed 0.5: 1 wire per 30 ticks
With productivity 1.4: 1.4 wire per 30 ticks = 1 wire per 21.42 ticks
Green circuit production (4 x productivity module 3 and assembler III: speed - 60%: crafting speed: 1.25 * (1 - 0.6) = 0.5)
Base input: 3 wires per 0.5 sec = 3 wires per 30 ticks = 1 wire per 10 ticks
With crafting speed 0.5: 1 wire per 20 ticks
Ideal ratio is 21.42 : 20 or ~ 1 : 1

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
Thanks.
tl:dr. They are indeed slowed down by the same amount, but resulting wire production is higher due to, well, productivity bonus.

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
I'm sure with a little finagling I could squeeze in a few more beacons. It's not fully optimized. But if I add more beacons I will also have to find a way to pump more plate in as well. In it's current incarnation I am almost using all material on the belt.LazyLoneLion wrote:Not sure if you could have used big poles instead of staions and add few more beacons instead.Juggla wrote:My late game green cell with no long handed inserters

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
I tried this independently.
Layout can be stacked 4 times with the 4 lanes each copper/iron.

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
option 1 . Simple and linear, but there is a weak point - Long handed inserter
Option 2. Almost the same thing, but everywhere you can install Stack inserter and a little harder to extract the finished productRe: Yet another green cells build :)
4 Belts Copper 3 belts iron 2 Belts green
Re: Yet another green cells build :)
Hey everyone!
There was a discussion on page one about using Productivity 3's with Speed 3 beacons and belts. This is where my post actually belongs to.
I recently tried to come up with a endgame design for green circuits without bots. As you can imagine, it became quickly clear, that the design was going to be pretty small, as there is not enough room to bring in material and/or remove products. My goal was to maximize assembler utilization for a linear layout I intended to use for every other assembler/furnace product as well.
There are recipes which are easy to satisfy with said layout, so I figured, I could try to belt in additional resources for the more demanding recipes in the lanes for simple recipes. This is the purpose of the following monstrosity:
Resources and products of the green circuit assemblers are brought in and out via two lanes of furnaces. This allows for 6 green circuit assemblers per half a lane (the design is mirrored along the vertical axis) instead of only 2.
As I tried to maximize utilization, neither inputs nor outputs are saturated belts:
I have not measured the output exactly, but I estimate that the compression is about 2/3.
If anyone wants to try it, here is the blueprint:
Happy 0.15 for tomorrow!

I added Requester Chests in front of each input belt to mark the required resource. Copper and iron plates are needed for green circuits. Instead of coal, you can feed in any ore (or iron for steel for that matter) you want. So far nothing unusual. Important is however the following: The two copper/iron ore chests mark inputs, that must be of the same type of ore (though not necessarily copper or iron), because the two furnace lanes have common outputs.Happy 0.15 for tomorrow!

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
One thing that may be of interest:
My setups use a 1:1 ratio of wire to circuit assemblers. Early on the circuit assemblers run slower than optimal, but later all you need to do is replace the wire assemblers with assembly machine 3's and it works perfectly.
I generally prefer to just build more units rather than use anything faster than asm2s, but for this purpose they work great.

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
Rather than waiting for my previous post to be answered i went ahead and copied the system, i found an inherant problem for the production, was that the chips could not be moved away fast enough, so i figured out how to make is 4 lane (not very difficult).
My green chips are part of red chips production so i thought i would show you my plant and a breakdown.

A slight variation on the almost stereotypical early game build aimed at simplicity.

full compression. 4 blue belts green circuit factory. speed modules can be replaced with pro modules.i didnt had enough space to build it larger
i use 8 of these monsters. 80.000 green per minute

Re: Yet another green cells build :)
I spent some time coming up with a monster fast Electronic Circuit production line, all 4x Prod assemblers also had +200% speed from beacons, but reading this topic I made the exact mistake you did.Movingmike wrote:full compression. 4 blue belts green circuit factory. speed modules can be replaced with pro modules.i didnt had enough space to build it larger
i use 8 of these monsters. 80.000 green per minute
3 Copper > 6 Copper Wire > 2 Electronic Circuits (2x craft cycles)
This recipe works... until you introduce Productivity Modules:
3 Copper > 8.4 Copper Wire > 3.92 Electronic Circuits (2.8 craft cycles)
So the ratio is no longer 3 Copper Wire assemblers to 2 Electronic Circuit assemblers, it actually becomes 15:14, with 0.75 Iron and 1.1 Copper (both rounded up a bit) per Electronic Circuit. This should allow for some pretty crazy beaconing though.
Money might be the root of all evil, but ignorance is the heart.
Re: Yet another green cells build :)
With these fast-production half fabricates, I favor slamming in 4 production modules in a tier 3 assembler on both ends. This brings the ratio to almost 1:1 - you get 2.8 copper wire per second, but consume 3 in the green assembler. I find that acceptable. It cuts back heavily on copper usage at the cost of power and some speed. Beaconizing it is possible but to be honest? A liability because even at 0.5 crafting time you're at one item per second.
Units like that I add locally wherever green modules are needed, I rarely ship them anywhere (my structure factory being the only exception). Add copper and iron instead.
Simple works!
[Edit] Zyt, isn't that amount of belting kinda slowing your UPS to a crawl? It did in my case...
