Unable to start or connect to a multiplayer match

Post by DainPiediferro »

i have a very strange problem. i'm unable to connect to a multiplayer match with a friend or to create one. i'm able to access and play to someone else match, public match, but not mine

- opened manually over the router the port 31937 (or whatever is the correct ones)
- opened router firewall
- opened firewall in pc for factorio
- but no way.

in factorio courrent file gives me this error
36.727 Warning ServerRouter.cpp:469: Received own adddress message reply with conflicting address (got [MY.IP]:61612, expected [MY.IP]:59272)

when i enter a match that i created gives me this error: IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMIN EXTERNAL IP ADDRESS. OTHER PLAYERS COULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONNECT

solutions?

(se scrivete la risposta in italiano è meglio, ma anche l'inglese non è un problema)

When you host the server, turn off "Public Mode" and instead of your friends connecting to you via the server browser, use direct connect and give them your IP Address.
This should solve the issue you're having due to your Router not DNAT'ing correctly by the sounds of it.

i tried to solve it with EVOLVE or HAMACHI, but i have a second problem instead of not connecting.

we connect each other with 4-5kb/s, and because our map is 49Mb.......it needs several hours to give the other the data of the map.

As other people have already said that sounds like NAT /router issue, not a factorio issue.

See viewtopic.php?f=53&t=50200 for free external hosting of factorio servers.

Get a VPN service with high throughput or contact your ISP and ask if they can offer you a non NAT connection or at least an NAT that does not change your address for every single connection.
