Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
They only handle output items, not input items.
Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
The rule of thumb is, if a building has dedicated "output" slots, inserters can only pick items from those slots.
Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
thanks for this but whats with "heater" ? in 0.14 i bearly remember that there it was fine? like u see in pic

Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
The burner inserters have no output slot, just one input slot. and as there is no dedicated output slot, any inserter can take coal from the only slot .
Koub - Please consider English is not my native language.
Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
ah ok ^^ thanks for your help <3
Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
Make a 3 space gap between iron and steel furnaces. Run coal down the middle using only underground belt. In the gaps between underground belt use long handed inserters to transfer iron to steel.
-- =long handed
u = underground
| = iron ore
1 -- 1 |
1 u 1 |
2 u 2 |
2 -- 2 |
3 -- 3 |
3 u 3 |
4 u 4 |
4 -- 4 |
-- =long handed
u = underground
| = iron ore
1 -- 1 |
1 u 1 |
2 u 2 |
2 -- 2 |
3 -- 3 |
3 u 3 |
4 u 4 |
4 -- 4 |
Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace
Personally, I feel integrated iron/steel smelting lines aren't worth it.
Nowadays I simply build two standard smelter lines - one for iron, another for steel - and place iron output belt in reversed direction, then just use it as steel line's input.

Smelting lines
It takes slightly more space, but this way I can easily re-profile the smelters whenever necessary without locking myself into specific recipes.Re: Cote Trans Furnace to Furnace

hey sorry for the late answer...i wasn't able to play a while^^
i tried you setup but i'm not sure about functionality... you need for both-sided setup:
2x21
i need for the one bellow:
5x11
here is some i thought about the last minuetes after i saw you version^^ what is you opinion about that? what would you prefer?

yeah i know it's a lot easier ... but i want it this way: ore goes in - steel comes out^^ not ore goes in - iron comes out and go to steel after that...i want less space for that^^ if you know what i mean...i think i wouldn't if i read this...
