Startup Crash on Loading sprites

My 2gb Netbook was running the game just fine, but after the 1.5 update it doesn't start anymore...
It even kills steam in the process.

You are barely meeting the minimal requirements (2GB RAM), set the Steam launch options for Factorio to --force-opengl or --graphics-quality=low and see it that helps (right-click on the game in the Steam Library --> Properties --> Set launch options).

@devs: The Steam page shows a minimal requirement of 2GB RAM but the FAQ on the website only shows a requirement of 1GB RAM, you might want to fix that.

I believe I have the same problem (macbook pro mid 2012 with 16gb of memory), launched game from steam. The loading indicator gets to 41% and then (consistently) crashed while 'loading sprites'. Did not have this problem a week ago (15.06'ish)

@oil: The game should start in 0.15.11
@daniel34: Thanks for pointing that out.

@hectormalor: actually, you have different problem with similar symptoms. Try to reboot your MacBook, it that doesn't help open Factorio properties in Steam Library and set launch options to
