you recently commented on yuoki forums I thought id post here rather than over there.

I Love Yuoki, I dislike zrecycle after using it once...

I dislik your mod b'coz it has too many recycle recipes. I prefer the "recycle furnace" that does it all a single box to feed it and a single box to empty it I don't even care about how much I get back ( 10-50-100% ), all this click recipe open recipe tab ( im using yuoki mods that's 6 Extra tabs your adding to an already cluttered gui )

Other users are using more mods that add more "mod-tabs" into the gui and you going to add support for each of these and add anouter tab to recycle each one, that's too much...

that's why I prefer the furnace it will either melt the item or it wont, ( it wont when its not got the recipe )

Thank you for the feedback below. It definitely belongs here rather than in Yuoki.

I think you make 3 feedback items. "Mod-tabs", "Machine vs furnace" and "Choosing a percentage".

"Mod-tabs": I agree with you about the cluttered "mod-tabs". I don't like that my mod produces all the extra tabs in the player's crafting GUI, because in fact none of the recycling items can be crafted by a player anyway, and can only be in a recycling machine. I'd like the tabs to be displayed only by recycling machines. I have asked the devs in the suggestions forum that any 'mod tab' where items cannot be crafted "in hand" should not be displayed. If that was the case then, the recycling 'mod-tabs' would be invisible in the player crafting menu, and the number of tabs in my recycling machines would be less than or equal to the number of tabs in assembling machines.

I have tried 2 alternatives to fix this. 1. I put everything that could be recycled in machines under a single tab, but the list of the items was ridiculously long. 2. I hid all the recipes (which hid the 'mod-tabs' and then unhid them when a player clicked on a recycling machine. Then when thye closed the recycling machine menu, I hid them again. However it was taking over 5 seconds just to open and close the machine. This was too long.

(Of course Yuoki didn't need to create all those tabs either, he could have put his items in the existing tabs ;) )

Machine vs furnace: When, instead of throwing stuff into bins for refuse collection, I go to my local centre for things that can be recycled, I have to separate glass from garden refuse from metal from electrical appliances from batteries from light bulbs from books from clothes from paper from cardboard from .... This is because all of those items are recycled in different ways, and taken on to different places to be recycled. They aren't all aggregated back together again and thrown into a furnace. I thought that recycling machines, dedicated to recycling one thing at a time, were more realistic than a furnace. But of course, there's nothing to stop you from using the furnace recycling mods if you prefer.

Choosing a percentage recycling return: This was specifically requested by somebody. What I'd really like to do is let people choose the percentage by filling in a 'form'. But this is not possible because of how mods have to be written.

Fix: https://github.com/DRY411S/Recycling-Machines/issues/19
Fix: https://github.com/DRY411S/Recycling-Machines/issues/20

The new railway track system in v0.13 was not being treated correctly and rail track could not be recycled. This is now fixed.
The locale for Bob's Assembly Machines was missing and is now added.
Locale for 5dim's mods has now been added.
The most downloaded mods from the portal, which add new items/entities, have all been tested to ensure that the Recycling Machines will work correctly, and locale added where necessary:

Rail Tanker
Bob's Mods
Warehousing
Bio Industries
Robot Army
Orbital Ion Cannon
5dim's Mods
Afraid of The Dark
Air Filtering
KS Power

Currently, the Recycling Machines will NOT recycle anything from Yuoki Industries. This will need a large rewrite and is in very early development.

v0.13.20

The code has been rewritten to cope with some other mods having more than one recipe for the same item (Bob's Modules for example), and some mods not following the 'convention' where the recipe name was the same as the 'item' that was being made (Yuoki Industries). As a result of this rewrite, this mod is now fully compatible with Yuoki Industries, including locale support.

The Recycling Machines mod now fully supports (including locale) the most popular mods on the portal which create new items that *could* be recycled.

Bob's Mods
5dim's Mods
Yuoki Industries
Rail Tanker
Warehousing
Bio Industries
Robot Army
Orbital Ion Cannon

Love your mod. Love that you are are still working on it.

I recently discovered that the outdated version had trouble with rails.

I have a rather large map going, and I've accidentally made quite a bit more than I will ever need. :)

I have your new corrected version, but I'm pretty sure if I throw it in the mods folder and remove the old one, that my current game will be unable to use the new version.
Can I rename it somehow to fool Factorio into using the new version?

EDIT: Never mind, IT WORKED! Awesome!

Thanks again, for this great mod!

Thanks for the feedback.

I have been working on it as v0.13 'matures' and will continue to do so. By rewriting it for Yuoki, and confirming that it plays nicely with Bob's Mods, 5dim mods and Marathon mod, I think the mod is now stable. The only changes I expect to make will be adding locale for other mods if people ask for it.

Right now though, I'm going on vacation until 10th August. :)

Hi,
I'm playing a peaceful game with Bob's Mods so I wondered if you could make it possible so that i can turn alien artifacts into small alien artifacts in a recycling machine, as I didn't see that option.
Greetings, Erbs

I'll take a look when I get back from holiday. The small alien artifacts are classed by Bob's Mods as 'raw-materials', like they are 'ore', or something found on the surface. A general rule I have is that my mod mod does not recycle anything that is classed as 'raw-materials', smelted or produced in chemical plants.

Ah, okay. It's just that I'm playing without monsters and Yuoki Industries only allows me to create/multiply the small ones and craft the normal alien artifacts...

Did I mention I love this mod?

I currently have all my recyclables moved to a chest next to the recycle machine. I'm wondering if there is a way to set up a circuit network to allow me to change the current object being recycled, so that I may automate the recycling of all the various pieces?

Recycling Machines 0.13.20 and Omnibarrels 1.1.0 seem to conflict with each other. When loading sprites part of the game loading screen I get a error:

Error when opening
C:\-blablabla-\Factorio\data\base\graphics\icons\heavy-oil-barrel.png for
reading: No such file or directory

Looks like this error may have more to do with Recycling Machines then Omnibarrels.

Thanks for the bug report. Somebody reported this on GitHub https://github.com/DRY411S/Recycling-Machines/issues/23 and has suggested a fix which I will test over the weekend.

Just when I decide to separate the v0.12 version in these posts, the devs declare that factorio v0.13 is now stable!

With that news, this means that I will not be updating the v0.12 version of this mod. The one above is the final v0.12 version. I'll continue to maintain v0.13.x and look forward to producing a v0.14.x :D
