Using the default keybindings, shift + left mouse, to copy another power switch settings instead just removes the power switch wires. Most likely because the same binding is used to "remove pole cables".
I would suggest shift + LMB prioritizes copying settings if another power switch is copied, and removing cables if there is no entity to copy from.
