I've tried locating the commandline option for the non-peer to peer connection method for dedicated servers. However, despite mention of this existing in several places I'm totally unable to locate what the commandline trigger actually *is*. the --help trigger does not list it OR a peer to peer option. There is also nothing in ~/factorio/config/config.ini. Has the --help output not been update? What is the actual method for enabling this functionality? Nowhere in any release log or FFF post is the method of activating it mentioned that I've seen.

[0.12.5] Factorio Dedicated Server Command Options
Re: [0.12.5] Factorio Dedicated Server Command Options
The peer to peer option is not a server setting, it's a client setting.
In 0.12.4 there was a checkbox in the multiplayer dialog box labeled "enable peer-to-peer", but it seems they removed it in 0.12.5.
So in theory some clients could be connected with peer to peer and some without it although on my server I sometimes could only connect one way and not the other.

Seems like the option should be for the server and not the clients.
Looking for a multiplayer server? Check out my servers Vanilla Server
Re: [0.12.5] Factorio Dedicated Server Command Options
There is no such option in 0.12.5: The server is always in non-peer to peer mode.creodor wrote:I've tried locating the commandline option for the non-peer to peer connection method for dedicated servers. A new option will be added in 0.12.7 to allow you to run the server in peer-to-peer mode. There will also be an option to allow you to disable commands on the server.

Re: [0.12.5] Factorio Dedicated Server Command Options
Will it be possible to deactivate certain command so that some commands can still be performed by everyone like the colour change command? Also will it be possible to op certain users so that they can perform commands?Oxyd wrote:There is no such option in 0.12.5: The server is always in non-peer to peer mode.creodor wrote:I've tried locating the commandline option for the non-peer to peer connection method for dedicated servers. Is it on the list of "would-be-nice-but-not-on-the-table-yet" ideas?Oxyd wrote:<-Snip->

It's definitely something I'd like to see, but there are no concrete plans yet.LordFedora wrote:Is it on the list of "would-be-nice-but-not-on-the-table-yet" ideas?Oxyd wrote:<-Snip->
