I understand all of that.

What I want to figure out is how to arrange signals so that it isn't just one big block , so that trains don't get held up needlessly.

Train Signal Question

I have this train intersection in my factory. It seems to work fine with the exception that when a train is anywhere in the intersection, all other trains wanting to enter the intersection have to wait for the first train to clear the intersection.

What I would like help with is, if it's possible ...

Map Search using icons

The ability to search the map using text is great.

However, it could be even greater if I could search using icons as well. That way, instead of having to type "inserter", I could just click on the icon for the inserter type I was looking for.

The list of trains in a Train Stop's "Trains with this stop" list do not include trains that have the stop as an Interrupt Target Stop.

I just discovered that if I enable the "Fuzzy search" Interface option, the search will now search all crafting categories.

OK, I figured it out...

The Pipette tool (Q key) takes whatever object the pointer is over and puts it into your hand.

I have seen Factorio gameplay videos where they appear to be able to copy & paste objects, such as an inserter.

They already have one inserter placed. They appear to drag a new inserter from the already placed one then place the new one. They did not have an inserter in their quick bar and they did ...

I have already uninstalled everything and reinstalled through Steam.

Since the error message is just a nuisance, I can put up wilt it till it gets fixed.
