Re: Common stacker for multiple stations that never jams
Another thing you can potentially do for a dynamic train limit is setup a max limit for each station that respects the size stacker you have. That said, I think your thread title and opening line may need a bit of rewording. Probably, you're right, thanks. Let me try to change the opening line. I h...

[1.1.104] Train stop: train count and stopped train with "destination full"
If a train at a station A is standing with "destination full" for station B, it does count in the train count of station A (as the stopped train), but read stopped train at station A gives T=0. It seems to me that this is wrong. The train with "destination full" at a station shou...

Re: Common stacker for multiple stations that never jams
Very nice! Yes I've also always used this design (before yesterday). You're right: it is simple and it never jams. I like it. But I was wondering if the dynamic limit jamming problem could be solved. And it could be. The design upwards does not jam even if station A tries to invite 100 trains and st...

Common stacker for multiple stations that never jams
I heard many times that multiple stations with common stacker cannot have dynamic limits: it just does not work, it jams. Well... I think there is an interesting and simple solution. So the problem: Design a common stacker for multiple train stations that never jams and allows to park as much trains...

Re: Kalman filter for simple average belt flow measurement
It turns out that it is doable, but all combinators should be set to the same magic number 2*123=246 to work! :) Are there any other magic factorio numbers? The magic number comes from how the accumulated value = expected items per tick * input multiplier * |divisor|. You're expecting 22.5 items pe...

Re: Kalman filter for simple average belt flow measurement
I use that to maintain adaptive sushi belts. I never knew it by that name, just as "exponential-decay average". I use read-pulse metering, though, since that works for any belt speed and doesn't get confused if the belt backs up. Yes, your are right, pulse measuring is obviously better. I...

Kalman filter for simple average belt flow measurement
I'd like to share a very compact design to measure a belt flow. I know that there is a way to measure the flow by connecting 100 belts in a line together, but it is too heavy in my opinion. Here is another simple solution. On the picture 225k and 112k means that the average flow is equal to 22.5 and...

Re: [1.1.25] Express insterter inside lane desync
It seemed to me that in earlier versions it was not so. But I check 1.0.0 and the inserter behaviour is the same. So my memory is not so good, sorry.

It seems to me that express inserters pick every other item from the inside lane of the express belt.

[0.18.30] A circuit lamp bug after pasting a blueprint
Description : after pasting a blueprint, a lot of lamps connected to circuit networks are shining while they shouldn't (no mods, vanilla 0.18.30). It is somehow related to beacons waiting for modules. After inserting modules, lamps magically stop shining. The bug is reproducable. lamp_bug_pre.zip i...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo
In the old campaign, "A New Hope" level 2 the player discovers a large base that has been decimated by biters. I remember that this was the level that my imagination really kicked into high gear. I think that without that glimpse into the future I might not have had the curiosity to conti...
