AFAIK mods or scenarios, which you could probably take from Comfy or Redmew's githubs. Normal code for level gen is .dat stuff, and I can't read that with anything.

I usually don't look at the numbers on it for THAT reason; it's just decimated too much. If it was at a better scale for readability, I feel it would have much more usage. +1 to your idea!

Pretty sure it's for the fun aspect, why would smog be fun? Sure you get to see how much the environment cowers at your factory with this, but it would be hard to see through and bothersome, distracting you from work in the factory.
