Re: Friday Facts #262 - Hello my name is: Compilatron

As always, whatever many suggestions we make, the devs always manage to surprise me the right way with either an idea if their own, or a twist on the community's suggestions they choose to imple...

Re: Multithreaded game update loop

Since kovarex has stated that he will optimize single core performance it is best that you use this graph when buying your next CPU. Many people have a multicore CPU but a cheap crappy model

Use this to buy your next

11.14] Game crashing when saving

i'de like to let you know that sometimes the decostruction planner marks a tile for removal but the logistics network doesnt remove it. the result is that the game will crash when it tries to save. i uploaded a savegame with this problem. note that the problem is solved when the undeleted tiles are ...

May i ask what your solars supply in terms of power and how much you store with accumulators.

I am also interested in you production and how much you consume.

Re: show me your mass storage!

I started with the basic approach - inserter off the feed belt into a storage chest with another inserter from the chest onto an output belt (like mike_smit's arrangement). This arrangement, at its simplest requires 9 tiles for 2 chests of storage. And, the arrangement of the belts is not very flex...

show me your mass storage!

After playing for a while i got the tendency to mass store the main resources. I am curious how you guys solved the following problems. - how to have your main resource input line be prefered over your storage - how you have the most storage with the least amount of tiles used - how you merge your s...

Re: What kind of computer do you need for Factorio?

A dedicated graphics card makes A LOT of difference. Your 5 year old Geforce 9600GT is still more powerful than a built-in Intel HD4000 or 4600 (which come with an Ivybridge or Haswell i-core processors respectively). Trying to run it on a built-in HD3000 (older i-core processors) would probably be...
