And it looks like this behavior has already been identified here: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=182&t=72534#p438798 Although, in the attached save a manual save is able to crash the game just as well as an autosave. Maybe there is a little more going on? Anyway, sorry about the dup...

Hey guys, I did some more testing and figured out a more reliable way to trigger the save failure. Attached is a new save file. If you put a train signal in the indicated spot in the attached image and try to save the game, the save will fail and the game will crash. Cause.JPG Good luck with the bug...

Sorry thought I had, is this the right one?
The timestamp will be different as I tried it again today and had the same crash, but it it otherwise seems like the same issue.

[0.17.52] crash on save - incomingBlock->getOutboundSignals().count(...) was not true
I am not using any mods. All you have to do is load up the save and wait for the next autosave, for me it crashes regardless of what I am doing.

Have you considered a lock timer on bots removing items from a chest?
i.e. bot1 removes item and the next bot has to wait a fraction of a second before it can remove an item from the box.
