But I'll admit, i abuse of the /c game.speed 50 (and it stills feel less cheaty than installing factorissimo, which would ruin the experience :D)
Interesting, I never really found myself waiting around. Always something to work on.

Re: [0.14.21] Lamps load chunks causing unnecessary lag

That's what I was thinking. If this could be done it'd really boost performance. I get what you're saying Rsedding. I'd just think lights are simple/predictable enough to have some kind of caching rather than marking the chunk active like you would for inserters, etc. But I'm not a dev so maybe it's...

[0.14.21] Lamps load chunks causing unnecessary lag

I love lamps. I blueprint them with everything so they are everywhere. I have around 19k of them around the world. My game update is around 14.5 now. I noticed lamps keep chunks "active" so I tested removing them to see what happens. After removing all lights with a lua command, Game Updat...

You weren't kidding about decarative entities! I installed the mod you linked, and our save went from 80MB to 39.

I really doubt it would have good enough performance at that price point.

Re: Friday Facts #129 - The late game

As for the mines, as others have mentioned, I too think it should work more like oil patches. Resource density decrease over time, making the miners produce less over time. Never really run out, but rather become so inefficient that you'd rather find a new spot. This could be combined with more ric...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

I like what sillyfly said. I think it'd need to be high level research, and be really expensive to make. Also require electricity to run, and have it only work with chests and train cars. I do think this would take the pressure off of using so many bots lategame to reduce lag.

1 solar panel produces 42KW after factoring in the night

After some extensive testing, I have found that net solar power is 70% of the amount that a solar panel produces.

Code: Select all

netWatts = .7 * solarPanels * 60
or

Code: Select all

netWatts = solarPanels * 42
And as it's been mentioned before, 7:6 solar/accus is the optimal ratio.
Hope this helps someone!
