You could try this mod to re-create the surface:

Re: Next to no Tungsten nor Coal on Vulcanus?
As a possible aide, you can use CTRL+F (default keybind) to search the map. This gives you an easy way to find, for example, any coal patches you might have that are on the map but you just missed them.

Hey, that gives me hope! Thanks.
I thought the ore patches were few and far between, but didn't know that the lava lakes overwrite the ore patches!

thanks yeah, blueprints would be nice. I hope someone (not me!) Makes a nice fusion power blueprint book, and in an ideal world it'd be compatible with Nilaus's city blocks as I love how neat they are.

Realistic Fusion Power
I tried to find a topic about this, couldn't.
I like it but I gotta confess, I cheat just to get to the direct fusion to energy converter. Can't find any lets plays on youtube about it either. Has anyone made any blueprints to make this easier? Would appreciate advice on a really fun mod, solar ...

Re: Anyone installed Windows XP from USB?
That actually worked! I got into a boot menu, selected the windows XP installer, said it was going to load 615mb, about 144mb the screen went blank. I wish I had a CRT (I did, two years ago, but it broke) as I suspect it was going to another resolution but I haven't got further.

Hey, so this is off topic but I'm hoping you guys might have experience with this.

Re: Anyone use barrels?
I did think about it, barrels are fun, but IRL for long distances pipelines require less logistics. Just have a pipe, pumps every certain distance, and monitor for pressure drops.
But in game? pipelines are still a bit confusing. I do put pumps in them at random, never really got a good feel ...

It's interesting.
It feels like they played a lot of factorio, and streamlined it.
1: You get construction bots right from the start. Infact, the only way you build is via your bots.
2: Belts hold one item at a time. No more belt balancing
3: Simplified fluid physics. Water, oil, hydrogen gas ...

The treadmill prototype I found most interesting. It was going at speed, the wheels turn the propeller, which propels it along and despite the mechical losses it accelerates, going faster than the treadmill.
I never quite understoof how a yacht can tack into the wind ...

Re: Anyone use barrels?
I use barrels for light oil to be flown into remote walls for the flamethrowers.
I try to have a factory to make barrels and have the inserter stop when it reaches a certain limit, but I end up with far more barrels then what there should be. Why is that, are the barrels not counted when in flight?

Re: [LONGPOST] Bot only mega base - No belt no train
Nice base, only just found it now. I'm quite happy with my intermediates, but what I'd really like is bot based science production. You just use the assmblers for that?
I'd like to see a beaconed approach.
