Thanks for the replies everyone!

So what I understand is that it's basically an internal debugging symbol that you shouldn't see for more than a tick or so (unless the game is very busy doing other stuff perhaps), and that on ghosts it shouldn't show up at all.

What does a green connection icon mean on a space platform ghost?

It is animated as 3 frames, the screenshot is from its outward-most state (the "wave" being the furthest away from the origin). What does it mean? Another ghosted asteroid collector on the same platform doesn't have it and neither is missing space platform foundation ...

The mining drill has an internal buffer that is separate from the segment. The segment is disabled, but the mining drill's buffer is not. Hmm so the mining drill works as a pump, moving it between the two segments through its internal buffer?

So like, I got to another planet but didn't bring the materials to build a full rocket to get back to orbit. Am I simply stuck here?! Does the game expect you to have a savefile to revert to? I've tried killing myself but I just get back to the drop point on that planet. There's no way to get back ...

To clarify the issue once more: the device where my mouse hovers over is working perfectly, sulfuric acid is listed as being in the device, but several errors are showing

The issue is quite fundamental to how the game synchronizes it's game updates, network updates and how things are buffered.
Hornwitser took a look at at the many issues causing unnecessary delays. In Version 1.1.43 you should see latencies as low as 2 ticks (33ms) on LAN.
