What about item count? It'd be fiddly, but if you empty the hub of a specific item onto a belt loop then back into the hub, you could only enable the inserters when traveling in a particular direction. The number of items would be like a timer.

Have you tried using an interrupt after time elapsed to turn your platform around? Maybe something like that would work.


Tried, won't work, except the shattered planet space route.
The platform always need reach the destination to trigger the interrupt, regardless the priority of interrupts you ...

I think it won't work as good as OP thinks.
In current game, the more distance there is, the more nests biters have.
If you just let "the more distance there is, the more evolution biters have" happen too, the more distance there is, (the more nests * the more evolution) biters would have.

I think something like this might be great for clearing forest for a diagonal rail line. It's easy for me to do cutting for horizontal or vertical, but diagonal is a pain.

As a big fan of Rail World map, I'd strongly agree with OP.
After a mine depletion,
- I just want to:
get my electric mining drills, furnaces, railways back for further use
- I don't want to:
cut trousands of trees with the railway together

FYI, not only the shift+left-click becomes unavailable, but also long-pressing left-click.

It could work similar to existing Move tag control ( Shift+Left click ).
Assign it to Right-click or Shift+Right click , using it on a tag initiates "mining it", similar to how mining ghosts work (first mining in a row is slow, subsequent are faster).
