I've never used foundation simply because by the time I've unlocked it, I've more or less completed the game.
This is my main issue with it. You have to build your Vulcanus and Fulgora base before you have foundation, which means that by the time you have foundation you don't need it because ...

A couple thoughts from glancing over it:
- You keep talking about "mathematically cover[ing] all possible scenarios"—have you done any sort of fuzzing or enumeration or are you at the "this covers everything we can think of so far" stage right now?

Never heard of ‘em. :-) That is the problem with tribal knowledge - only some people know it. If you have Code access, then why ask the people in the Forums who do not?
It sounds like an interesting idea - but so far it is Just an Idea. I don’t quite understand what is wrong with Smart Belt ...

Funnily, i just tried to change the title, which coincided with a moderators edit. My edit would have said:

I assume that the issue arises when you have both a railgun and another entity in the same blueprint. It is probably not worth adding an extra check or whatever to make it possible to rotate a bluprint which only contains a railgun

The "bug" i see happening here is the difference in the underground when you attempt to make a corner in the belt.
When you run into a belt (or as far as i can tell any other obstacle) you still place an underground, which results in the sideload you can see in the video above.

It was requested by speedrunners to automate some checks on uploaded speedrun save files with replay data. I guess they will be using it to automate some checks...

When a gate is open, they should not get damaged by a rail gun shot.

Currently, there is no good reason to use gates on space ships, especially when using rail guns. similar on the planets.
