If the automation level of your factory is very high it is a non trivial task to prove the stability of the processes. This is all the more true, if the throuput is varied over a wide range. So the test has to automated too.

The previous solution needed the wide chest mod, because you can´t read the stock in the cargo wagon (I know there is a mod ...). So I control the reciving chest. This requires double handling too.

Another point is the reaction time if you order steel. The new setup reserves steel plates so steel ...

This approach needs not to store iron plates in advance. If you set burn iron plates, two of the furnaces make iron plates and three steel. with a blacklist for the filter inserter the raw material stays in the cargo wagon. Iron plates come out if you burn iron ore.
