It seems like I have to keep turning the map feature back on.
Recipe Icons keep getting auto reset / turned off on map mode

Map mode supports clicking ALT to toggle the selected overlays and not. It might be that?

I changed the binding to right-ctrl. Was confusing the first time I started a new game and ALT didn't work, but it saves headaches on alt-tabs, alt-ds and alt-bs
