Smart Inserters -- adjustable item stack

Hello all,
I was setting up a rather large train staging stop. I noticed that for say i have 49 pipes in my cargo and my inserter will carry 4 (after all tech) into the cargo but only has room for one, then the arm will still have 3 left trying to drop them off getting stuck and wont fill it with the other stuff that's waiting.
So my idea was to have as part of the filter menu, have an inserter stack size control. Or if that is a no go, just put a check for how much the drop off point has room for and only grab's the necessary quantity.
