use circuit network to access Spidertrons logistic

Post by SirDarki »

TL;DR
If my character and a spidertron stands near the same circuit network (power pole), i can access/manipulate this spidertrons trunk and logistic.

What ?
The tl/dr says quite all about it, but.....

Why ?
Just one of many usecases:
With the latest release, my landfilling actions changed immediately: I got a so called "spider pack" (a bunch of spiders with all connected to the leader spidy), waiting at the stone patch with landfilling factory. This spiders all have a 9k landfilling request, and are equipped with roboport and buiding robots. I direct this spider pack by remote from stone patch to the zone, where the landfilling has to be done (initiated from huge landfilling blueprints). In this cenario, i never have to be near the landfilling zone, the stone patch or the spider pack. But what, if i want the pack to also pick up some train tracks to build the new track over the newly filled area, or some walls and laserturrets to repair a nearby outpost? I have to meet the pack to change the logistic request of one or all of the spiders. This timeloss (meeting) can be avoided with my suggestion. And...:

My standard blueprints for straight rail tracks and intersections always contains power poles also to bring electricity to the world. I assume this just everyones approach ;). In addition, since ancient times ^^ i have also this red and green cables in the straight line blueprint, but was too lazy so far to add the cables also to the intersections (or connect these manually, o gosh...that will be hundreds...) since i had no real usecase to have world-spanning circuit networks even if this would be intersting at some point. Now, if i could direct my spiders logistics from the other end of the world (by a all connected circuit network), that would be NICE.

cheers
