[1.1.20+] Feature Improvement: Mining Animations for Small Wreckage

Would like to see ability to toggle mining animation for crash-site-spaceship-wreck-small-#.


With the removal of minable-wreckage in 1.1.0 there is no similar wreckage item that displays the mining animation for the player when the player right clicks on the wreckage. The recommendation is to have the pick animation as an toggleable option for these specific crash-site-spaceship-wreck entities and add appropriate particles and sounds.

Right now these entities are "minable" but do not show an animation. Not sure if this is defined by the mining_particle and/or products in the mineable_properties, however, neither of these can be set in runtime and would require mod changes to existing prototypes to implement.

Having a "metal-particle" and some metallic mining sound associated when mining these shipwreck pieces would add depth to the game and give a much lacking visual indication.

Also, to expand on this topic, if can make a different sound for when these entities are mined and when they are damaged, that would be a nice feature. Perhaps some way to have a chance of damage while mining?

Seems like there could be several permutations, where you would be able to mine, but it may drop or damage or both.

For example, mining a ship wreck part might yield some scrap items, and show metal particles and use a metallic sound.
Or mining some specific entities might show another animation depending on the type, say a wrench animation for an assembler, etc.
Or picking up more common entities doesn't show an animation at all and makes the default pickup entity sound.
Or perhaps some mined entities have chance to be damaged during the mining process with the pick and that damage has a unique metal sound.

I think there is some room here for improvement, but at a minimum would like to have the ability for the animation to work again on these crash-site-spaceship-wreck-small-# entities that replace minable-wreckage. Of course allowing mineable_properties to be RW would be even better.

No luck in making these simple-entity-with-owner (crash-site-spaceship-wreck-small-#) animate when mined. Doesn't seem to work with the container entities as well. Is the character mining animation hard coded to simple-entity and resource only? Or is there some thing it's looking for in the prototype that could be modded?
