Hello
a friend and I have had a lot of fun playing with the spidertron, so much that we're never really leaving the spider anymore.
This comes with the disadvantage that the movement of the spidertron is kinda, well, wiggly and sluggish. Doing a straight line of belts is tedious as every so often the spidertron moves slightly off the straight path and when decelerating it takes a bit of time until you're fully stopped. That means you can't precisely place entities or use buildings like you can with your avatar, which walks straight and starts and stops instantly.
Is there a way someone could make a mod that makes the movement of the spidertron more abrupt and straight, like the movement of the avatar? It might look weird to instantly accelerate to the top speed and decelerate to zero, but it would make using the spidertron so much more comfortable.
Thank you very!
Spidertron anti-wiggle and instant speed

I second that. Spidertron is awesome but comes with many downsides (which I can't imagine were intended).

It would be even awesomer if spidertron could keep the look of the wiggly wobbly arachnidy movement while the actual performance was more rigid.

YES. Please make anti-wiggling spiders. It's not the animation that's the issue, it's that you can't leave a straight line of tiles as you walk.
Perhaps this is by design? The wiggle was added to nerf the spidertron a bit?

The wiggle was reported as a bug and should be fixed in 1.1
