Skip non accessible stations

Ideas that are too old (too many things have changed since) and ones which won't be implemented for certain reasons or if there are obviously better suggestions.

Skip non accessible stations

Post by NotRexButCaesar »

Currently, if there is a station in the schedule which the train cannot reach, the train becomes stuck.
I propose that trains skip stations that they are unable to path to, similarly to how disabled station are treated in the current system.

For example, the train below has the schedule 123. Station 3 is not accessible. With the current system, the train gets stuck. In the proposed system, the train skips station two and continues to station 3.

This suggestion has been made in many different forms many different times in the past.

I suggest you give a look at this thread :

I think it's a superset of your suggestion that makes it a little closer to universal while not being too complicated.

Nope.

If a train cannot reach a train stop that is enabled, this is a hard player error made with rail network or signals that has to be fixed. How would you tell the player that a schedule record was skipped because the train stop was enabled but unaccesible? What if i would enter a locomotive and press "go to A" and train would start going to B? That would be confusing at least.
