Hello!
I would like to see a mod where you can alter the biter settings so that they only expand outwards from your base ie. never in direction of the player.
This would result in a fairly peaceful playstyle, with bithers still available to attack you depending on the pollution cloud, but once you cleaned their bases out they wont rebuild in that same spot but still expand outwards. so the farther you go from spawn the denser the nests should get.
I guess basically what i want is a rail world lite. I can kill biters and their nests but i just want them to not spawn new nests in that area that has been cleaned BUT STILL spawn nests in other areas. would that be doable, or is there a mod for that?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Request for a biter Expansion settings mod.
Re: Request for a biter Expansion settings mod.
This is already the case in vanilla. Have you ever explored really far from spawn? The nests can get pretty huge and dense.Arathok wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 12:31 pm […] so the farther you go from spawn the denser the nests should get. […]
In any case, I don't know of a mod that modifies the expansion pattern.
However, I believe that RSO (Resource Spawner Overhaul) allows you to tweak how much bigger the enemy bases get with distance from spawn.
Obviously, RSO does a lot of other things to resource spawning, which you might not want.
Re: Request for a biter Expansion settings mod.
Also, as it is now they probably never expand outwards simply because outside, the nest density is already higher than what is allowed when expanding. Check debug setting (F4) show-expansion-candifate-chunks or whatever it is called. On deathworld at least the spawn density on new chunks far from start is far higher than what is possible from expansion.
