Game crashes when loading to 30% [0.17.79, alpha]

I downloaded bought and downloaded the game yesterday from the factorio website, and then after I installed it, the first few times I tried to open it, it would simply load but nothing would open and then I got a message saying the application wasn't responding. Then when it finally opened it just got suck loading at 30% saying it is "cropping bitmaps" and it won't move from 30% without crashing and I have tried to reopen it, redownload it, and restart my computer.
