Tutorial Grid Map Mod corrupted chunks in my main map

Post by MossStone »

I downloaded a mod called Tutorial Grid Map that I thought was just a different map type that I could use to create a map for just having blueprints on. However I have now found out that it's affected chunks in my main game map. I've sunk quite a few hours into this map, any idea of how I can save it?

Mods can be turned on/off, in this case you could enable the tutorial grid mod, and load a map to prepare your blueprint. Then turn off the mod in the mod menu ( this will reload the game). If you then load your main map, the mod will not have any effect.

I understand this is too late, the main map has already been impacted on the screenshot, if you disable the mod now there is very few chances that it will revert the map to its original state,it will probably leaves some weird gaps where things are missing. Instead i hope you have kept a save game of the map before the problem occur. you can load those after you disable the mod there will be unchanged.

There is an little icon on the top right corner when loading a save game, it tells you when you hover over it "synchronize mods with save file" , this allow you to turn on automatically all the mods that were used for a specific map, Downloading them from the mod portal if you don't have them anymore and then reloading the game with the mods and then finally loading the save game. You could click that button every time you alternate between the main map and the modded map.

worst case scenario is you only have one save game done after the mod corrupted the map. In this case reloading the map without mods will probably leaves some ugly gaps, you can try and fix them using the editor, by entering twice the command " /editor " in the game, it would allow for terrain editing but will lock the achievements.
