[0.18.10] Backing-up train when sitting in cargo has swapped L/R sides

Post by Mgis09 »

Left and right sides (controls) are swapped when backing-up a train while sitting in any cargo.
When in locomotive this doesn't occur.

Steps to reproduce:
When sitting in a train
LCCCCC(CCC)
but i was sitting in a, lets say middle C (here its copper)
and backing up into a Y section
the turning controls seem reversed

(I was driving from south to north (bottom of the Y), wanted go to west branch, so I pressed S+D, but the train was going East branch
when later i disconnected only Locomotive, it was going S+D West (right hand branch (of riding direction)) and S+A East(left hand branch))

Thanks for the report. I'm pretty sure that's correct: your cargo wagon is probably rotated. But it has near identical graphics in either rotation so you just don't notice it.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

Thanks!
Long story short
I couldn't make wagon to backup properly. Or rotate.
------
I wanted to try:
So I went ahead and tried to differ the graphics. I added red and green dots on them (128+ times) :D
But when driving I noticed that red dot always is facing south. So that is only graphic direction I thought.

And then i tried to rotate the wagon like I can do with Locomotive by pressing R.
And then I tried to "repark" the wagon, through a loop, with two locomotives and then reconnect and try.
Result was the same.

Thats it! I have no more ideas. :)
Thanks!
