I wish there was a player-controlled/edited multiplayer servers list just like Minecraft has.What?
I think the game's menu structure is still lacking one major component: a list of (only) player-added servers, with a player-added server name and maybe a description per each server. The list should also NOT show the server address (IP and port), those should only be visible when editing a server entry.Currently there is just the "Connect to server" menu, which stores just the last IP/port you connected to, and obviously always shows that IP and port in the text field.
Why?
Same as Minecraft, I only play Factorio on private servers. I usually have around 2-3 different servers at any given time. The servers are not public, and are not advertised to the main server list. I wish I could just add those servers to a custom list of multiplayer servers, basically exactly how Minecraft handles multiplayer servers. I just want to see those servers, not any other random multiplayer servers. Currently I have to manually input the IP and remember which server instance uses which port.Also one consideration is the current Connect to server menu, which obviously always shows the server IP and port. I often live stream while I'm playing, and I would prefer not showing the server address on stream, so currently I have to remember to switch scenes or disable the video source while I connect to the server via the connect menu. So ideally the custom servers list would just show the server name I add while adding a server entry, and possibly a separate line for a short description of the server. I think the server also sends the name and/or description at least to the master server list(?), so I think that could be included too in the entry in the server list.
