Setup for "Realistic Reactors" Mod

Post by shadow-r »

Edit: learning that you can store steam without losses in Factorio I concede that this setup is useless.

Hello
This thing was created using these mods:
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/RealisticReactors
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Realistic ... -utilities
Since I am a huge enthusiast when it comes to nuclear power, I couldn't resist making it more complex.
For the last few days I thought of a reactor design that is:
-safe
-running as efficiently as possible (at 910°C-920°C)
-compact
-unable to be overloaded (steam turbines can drop the core temperature, making the power deficit even bigger)
The result was this:
-heat in water is used for turbines
-cooling towers are controlled individually
-emergency water cooling system with additional steam turbines and alarm (disconnect the red wire on the decider combinator's connectors below the outer steam turbines to turn off alarm once it went off)
-backup power generator to start the reactors (one at a time)
-heat-switches allow for quick heating of the reactors (temperature of the switches may be increased to speed the process up even more)
-on site fuel reprocessing setup (needs iron plates and U238 to make more Pu fuel on the left, Mox fuel requests on chests are not configured, sorry about that)
-everything is supplied by robots.

also: the string to the book:
This includes blueprints for (modules are sorted left before right):
-central battery system
-roboports
-emergency cooling systems
-backup steam power generators
-fuel reprocessing facilities (left: Pu, right Mox)
-half reactors without features
-full reactor without features
-half reactors with all features
-full reactors with all features
You may also replace the breeder reactors with fission reactors, but keep in mind to rewire them.
Number of necessary connections are:
2 for half reactor without features (heatswitch on top, pump below reactor)
3 for full reactors without features (+connecting heatswitch between generators)
4 for half reactor with all features (+2 on scram system)
5 for full reactor with all features (+connecting heatwitch between generators)
Also keep in mind that the backup generators need fuel (they request wood, coal and solid fuel) and that each side of the reactor has it's own water supply you need to connect.

Tip: put your blueprint between the tags

Code: Select all

[bp]
and

Code: Select all

[/bp]
That'll create something like this:

There are 10 types of people: those who get this joke and those who don't.

Well, that's much better. Thank you.
