No mouse cursor

When I start Factorio my mouse cursor disappears, it works fine in every other app I have and this is a recent development.

I have mouse trails on off.

There is no mouse cursor in game.

In other words: please be more specific. State your game version, your OS, possibly your hardware you run on or anything else one might need to reproduce.

Hi.

I am running version 17.79 on windows 10, AMD R370, Z97, 4670 not oc'ed.

The game ran fine with no issues for many hrs as configured.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, mouse, video drivers are up to date.

The mouse works normally until game start then the cursor disappears, while not visible it is still there and usable to exit the game.

The only mouse cursor issue I found with search had to do with mouse trails being enabled.

It seems as though I am the only one that has ever had this issue, it is completely unheard of otherwise?

I was playing the game before work a few days ago and everything was working normally, when I came home from work and tried to play the game there is no mouse cursor in game anymore.

Something happened in that time frame to cause this issue, my computer was off the entire time and the mouse works normally in every other app even other games.

Is this a PEBKAC issue?

If I buy another copy of the game will it work?

I am ready for an upgrade, if I build a new computer will the game work then?

Do I need to do a complete reinstall of my OS, because it's due for it also.


I literally changed absolutely nothing and this issue just appeared after no issues for like 4,000 hrs.

I solved the problem by building a new computer.

It was probably the fresh OS install that did it rather than the hardware.
