Toggling map overlays is much slower in 17.70 compared to 15.40.

I've noticed something similar in my save, but still on .69. Activating turret ranges cuts my FPS in half. None of the other options (pollution, electric network, logistic networks) have this effect.
With pollution, turret, electric, & logistic off, map view takes 0.75ms to renter. Here's timings with only the one additional setting:
Turret ranges: 10.5ms to renter.
Logistic networks: 3.2ms to render.
Electric network: 2.1ms to render.
Pollution: 0.78ms to render.
Everything on: 13.3ms to render.
So the others have an effect too, but turret ranges are the only ones for me large enough to actually affect my FPS.
I'm still on .69 as my save won't load in .70 but that's a separate issue that's already been fixed.
So I can't say if this has changed in .70, but I can say it probably started before .70 anyways.
Save is too large to attach.
You may need this mod to load it.

No change after updating graphics drivers from 22.21.13.8189 to 26.21.14.3648.

I am 95% sure, it's because of the errors about not being to delete config.bak.ini in the log and not related to rendering in any way.

I confirm that the config.bak.ini file was the issue. I deleted it and the issue is gone. Thanks.
